There is no better time for this talk as now, I’m so elated that powerful voices are being given the opportunity and platform to speak on issues that challenge the status quo. Ijeoma Umebinyuo tackles the Culture of Silence in this thought provoking and articulate TEDx talk which explores how remaining silent trivializes our struggles whether it be with mental health, sexual assault, or another topic deemed taboo by the society in which we live. She divides the Culture of Silence into the three C’s: culture, code, and cage. And how do we escape it? By taking ownership of our stories and our struggles and by encouraging others to do the same. This is definitely one to watch.
