Faith talk is the last thing I thought I would find on TED, I was really shocked to find Billy Graham’s TED talk, and although it’s really old – 1998, I loved watching it. So, I wrote sometime last month that there is something beautiful in every human, I still believe it, but what I didn’t do was acknowledge the bad in us as well. You see, there was a time in my life that believing in and looking for only the good in people was very important to me, I had to because I needed it; You’d think even I would know better, right?. However, the truth is that some people have a higher degree of wickedness (evil) in them than good, it’s best to be wary and even though God commanded that we love one another, we can love and still be careful, while for some – love them from afar.
God’s logic goes like this: You have to be okay with not having something to be given it. He who is least is greatest. Whoever is last is first. Give it away if you want to keep it. Die to really live. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. It doesn’t really make sense on paper because each moment brings with it a reason to want to be first, exert our right and power, fight back and never want to loose ground, stand our ground and refuse to bend, etc. but Jesus says that is not the way. God’s logic works. Faith is really all we need. That’s all that matters.
In this talk, Billy Graham marvels at technology’s power to improve lives and change the world — but says the end of evil, suffering and death will come only after the world accepts Christ. A legendary talk from TED’s archives.
